[ a p p e a r a n c e ]very small in stature due to her premature birth, sophia stands at a meager five feet two inches. long blonde hair falls down her back in soft, untameable curls and frames a delicate oval-shaped face. the fair colour of her hair and creamy complexion are offset by a pair of wide blue-grey eyes and a lush mouth. despite being so slender she inherited her mother's hourglass figure and always dresses in fine clothes that - modestly - showcase her more womanly attributes.
[ b i r t h ]born prematurely by a week and a half. the infant was found unable to sustain herself without the aid of an oxygen concentrator and remained in the care of the livingston memorial hospital for approximately three weeks before being discharged with both parents.

[ OPPOSITIONAL DEFIANT DISORDER ]
since the attacks the patient has become increasingly hostile to those she is unfamiliar with. the doctors have a difficult time extracting any substantial response or information from her. the patient becomes notably agitated by the presence of male staff and has become physically violent. these episodes are normally followed by an emotional breakdown in which she cries for lengthily periods of time and is profusely apologetic. cannot understand why her body is reacting in this fashion. with time and a gentler approach, this can be overcome.
[ DISCOVERY ]
the sexual attacks were discovered by the patient's mother months after they began. sophia's unusually aggressive behaviour concerned her as it seemed to be without reason and extremely out of character. however, the patient continued to deny that anything was wrong. the truth was later discovered on the night of ms. king's first psychotic episode. she was reported to have been highly delusional and confused and became violent when the police were called.
she was arrested under the mental health act and admitted to the psychiatric ward of livingston memorial. from there extensive tests and interviews were conducted. after a few weeks she was deemed to no longer be a threat to herself or others and was promptly released. the patient has been readmitted and released from the hospital several times since and eventually sent to the reflection ranch as a last measure.

[ c h i l d h o o d ]the patient's childhood has been said to be quite picturesque. after inheriting his father's sprawling estate, mr. king moved in with his new wife and her daughter. they'd met during a business meeting he'd taken in france. sophia was the product of terese's previous marriage but william treated her as though she was his own. she was signed up for various after school activities including ballet and horseback riding, and seemed to thoroughly enjoy each of them. she also took great pride in her education, having been given the opportunity to attend one of montana's most prestigious art schools. although she had no siblings to speak of she made many friends at school and spent the majority of her free time with them, shopping or going on trips to amusement parks and theater productions. they supported her in all that she did and were admittedly charmed by her faint french accent and demure mannerisms. she never felt as though she wanted for anything and worked hard for everything that she did receive. it was a very comfortable, very luxurious lifestyle.

[ p r e f e r e n c e ]considered herself heterosexual prior to the attacks but has since become uninterested in building such relationships.
[ f r i e n d s ]the patient's professors and parents have both admitted that ms. king was an extremely popular young woman who was known for being extremely generous and kindhearted. she spent a lot of time with three of her female classmates, often spending hours with them at the local park or mall after school. was invited to several birthday parties and outings, and was considered polite and charming by other children's parents when she stayed overnight. said to have received nothing but praise.
[ h e l p ]formerly defiant and in denial about her condition, the patient has since acknowledged and accepted the help offered to her. still appears to be on edge around the male staff however and is reluctant to cooperate with them without some encouragement from a female staff member.
[ e v e n t]as was previously touched on, the event leading up to sophia's admittance to the ranch occurred late at night, approximately two or three months following the initial attacks. she had arrived home from school early, and was unusually quiet. mrs. king asked if she was interested in something to eat, but sophia failed to respond and instead headed up to her room where she shut herself in for the rest of the evening. after several hours, both mr. and mrs. king became concerned. thinking her ill, they ventured up to her room and knocked before entering. immediately this triggered a very violent confrontation between the patient and her parents which escalated quickly before mr. king was forced to physically subdue his daughter. mrs. king went to call the police and sophia was taken to hospital.
